The Details

I am partnering with Atlas Ocean Voyages to bring a group of adventurous souls to Antarctica.

Antarctica is not just for old retired folks anymore!

This marks the third year that Follow The Fro tours will organize a group trip to Antarctica.

The previous two excursions were tremendous successes, attracting over 80 adventurous travelers who share a passion for:

  • Socializing – past trips featured lively Drake Passage parties, hot tub antics, talent shows, and much more.
  • Exploring an extraordinary bucket-list destination – from watching penguins mating to learning from expert scientific guides and uncovering the wonders of ice and glaciers.

Join for an unforgettable experience!

Why Atlas Ocean Voyages?

I partnered with Atlas Ocean Voyages because they provide incredible value! The price point is unmatched, especially with additional amenities that most expedition cruises don’t offer—such as flights from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, a pre-night hotel stay, unlimited drinks on board, and much more!

I don’t think you will see a price like this again!

Please note that there are limited spaces available! A deposit of just $1,000 secures your spot, but these rooms will fill up quickly due to this fantastic deal for Antarctica!

Itinerary

Late November to early December is the season for witnessing the largest icebergs, the arrival of whales, warmer weather, and the hatching of penguin chicks.

Please click through the tabs below for a detailed day-by-day breakdown of what to expect.

Arrive in Buenos Aires and enjoy your stay at the included pre-night hotel.

Optional: Group dinner

At approximately 5:00 AM, you will be transferred from the hotel to the airport for your included charter flight to Ushuaia, a journey lasting about three hours. Upon arrival, a motor coach will take you to Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia’s national park, for an enriching cultural immersion tour, also included in your itinerary. This experience will take place before you board the ship around 2:00 PM.

Activity: Cultural Immersion tour – Tierra del Fuego

As we sail onward, we navigate the famous Drake Passage—a waterway where the frigid Antarctic meets the warmer Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Known for its rough conditions and strong westerly winds called the Roaring Fifties, this passage presents a challenge. However, you can relax aboard our expedition vessel, equipped with stabilizers, powerful engines, and a skilled crew. For adventurous sailors, crossing the Drake Passage is a significant achievement, and you’ll get to do it twice!

In the Drake, excitement builds as Antarctic wildlife comes into view. Weather permitting, we’ll spot our first seals and penguins, and this area is also known for its rich birdlife.

Activity: Various social activities—scavenger hunts, board games, and dance parties.

Discover the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula—

Nestled within the vast Antarctic region, the South Shetland Islands are a stunning sanctuary filled with wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and exceptional hiking opportunities. Visitors can find viewpoints that feel otherworldly. A potential landing at Elephant Island, named for its elephant seals and unique cliffside silhouette, follows the historic route of the legendary Shackleton Expedition. Another highlight, Deception Island, features a volcanic caldera with thermal springs against striking black sands. Notable stops may also include Half Moon Island, Yankee Harbor, Point Wild, and Barrientos Island, home to thriving Gentoo penguin colonies.

Often called The White Continent due to its vast icebergs, snow, and glaciers, Antarctica remains the ultimate frontier for seasoned explorers. As you navigate these icy waters, you may step on locations like Beak Island, Brown Bluff, Cierva Cove, Hidden Bay, and more. Each landing reveals a unique landscape, from sweeping tundra to rugged peaks, inviting you to follow the paths of a select few explorers.

CAPTAIN’S CHOICE — Your Captain will expertly navigate through ice floes, icebergs, and changing sea and weather conditions to enhance your expedition experience. Each day offers a new adventure, featuring spontaneous exploration as your Captain works with our expedition team to plan shore landings and Zodiac excursions. All itinerary routes are examples and may change based on conditions to ensure safety and the best experience for all guests.

This capability enables us to disembark swiftly using our fleet of Zodiac watercraft, allowing for quicker and more efficient access to breathtaking sites.

3. Third Time’s a Charm

This marks Follow The Fro’s third expedition to Antarctica, demonstrating enhanced experience in the region. With a greater depth of expertise to assess companies, Kesi has chosen the finest ship—one that provides comfort, value, and an exceptional overall experience for exploring the white continent.
